Hawke’s Bay Boutique Winemakers
Hawke’s Bay Boutique Winemakers is a joint effort by local boutique wine producers to look for opportunities to work together. Working as a group we can indentify ways to collectively promote our unique wines, as well as the tremendous diversity that is Hawke’s Bay.
All of our members are owner operated, producing less than 10,000 cases. They represent a broad cross section of Hawke’s Bay wine styles, from the Coast, to the Heretaunga Plains, as well as Central Hawke’s Bay. Most of the wines are also single vineyard examples that truely represent their terrior.
The group looks for opportunities to collectively promote our unique wines. During the 2010-11 season we ran five very succesful “Meet the Makers” events, mini food and wine festivals held at various members cellar doors where our wines could be tasted in an informal, enjoyable environment. Most recently the group went on the road, holding a very successful event in Khandallah, Wellington. More events are planned for the coming year, see below for more details.
