Malbec was originally a grape associated with the south-west of France but today is much more recognized from Argentina. Better known as Auxerrois or Côt Noir in Cahors, where it is now primarily found, and Pressac in other places, it is called Malbec in Bordeaux. The grapes tend to have an inky dark color and robust tannins. It is known as one of the six grapes allowed in the blend of red Bordeaux wine.
